Coach Brenner

RUN717 Assistant Coach

Laura Brenner is a proud Lancaster County local and enjoys exploring backroads and trails from Brickerville to Pequea. Currently, Laura is traveling the country and exploring new-to-her dirt roads and trails with her dog, Piper.

A fast learner, Laura found running in 2012 and fell in love. After a few half marathons and marathons, she discovered a knack for longer distances and explored the trail and ultra running scene. Laura’s race resume includes Hyner Trail Challenge, Call of the Wilds 25k and 50k, Escarpment Trail Run, and her solo effort at the canceled 2020 Labor Pains race, completing her first 100k. In addition to coaching herself through each of these races, Laura enjoys giving back to the running community by volunteer coaching the youth Spring Track and Fall Running Club with the Lancaster Recreation Commission.

Laura believes in life-long learning and listening to as many different philosophies as possible. She is a self-taught runner and competitor. When faced with an obstacle, Laura’s approach is simple, “you don’t know what you don’t know,” but you can learn. Laura approaches each training cycle with a “start from where you are” training plan to avoid injury and burnout. After years of training and learning, Laura is excited to coach other runners. She strives to be the coach and mentor she wishes she had when she started running and competing.
